Sunpoint Trading Limited is Public Company incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 and RBI registered Non Banking Finance Company. The Company was incorporated on 21st January, 1988 as a Private Limited Company, under the Companies Act, 1956 as H.N. INVESTMENTS PRIVATE LIMITED and converted into Public Limited Company in the name of H.N. INVESTMENTS LIMITED with a change of name as Sunpoint Trading Limited dated 2nd January, 1995 and Certificate of Change of name dated 8th March, 1995 was obtained from the Registrar of Companies, Gujarat.

The Company has been classified as an Investment Company by RBI.

The Company is listed on Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India Limited (MSEI) w.e.f. 22nd September, 2016

Business Overview

The Company is at present engaged in the business of Investment in Shares and Securities and Short Term Inter Corporate Finance Business. The Company's performance is satisfactory since its incorporation.

SPTL has carefully devised distinct investment policies for each of investment activities like short term and long term investment in debt and security based Mutual Fund and other securities, short term financing and investment in capital markets while taking into account high risk associated with those particular activities. Before undertaking an investment decision, the key executive responsible for investments of the Company will scrutinize track record and management of the Company, financial ratios, type of industry, future prospects of the Company in general and the Company in particular.

Investment Policies

The investments are reviewed at the each meeting of the Board of Directors. The decision of Investments is made by Investment Committee. The Investments are made in selected Shares considering various points Viz; history of the Company, Financial Parameters, Industry prospects, and the risk involved as also the quantum of investments already made in a particular Industry. Once a prospective investment opportunity is identified, the Research Committee takes charge to collect all further information that is necessary to analyse the strength and weakness of the investment opportunity. The Company maintains an adequate investment discipline so as not be over invest into any particular Company/Industry's Shares. At the time of investment decision, the Company follows various stipulations/provisions made under the Companies Act, 1956 and the relevant provisions. It is a Company's policy that it will not indulge in any form of speculative investment and/or forward trading. The Company's investment operations are regularly reviewed; restructured and timely decisions are made on the conclusions provided by the Research Division.

The Company's credit policy comprises of stringent criteria in appraising credit risk and fixing conservative norms for the company's credit exposure. The criteria for appraising credit risk are as follows:

1. Overall and individual exposure to each industry, activity and client

2. Security of the transaction.
